Parking in Krakow – key rules (ZDMK)
The Paid Parking Area (OPP) in Krakow is managed by the Krakow City Roads Authority (ZDMK). The zone is divided into three sub-zones: A, B and C, differing in rates and territorial coverage. The latest changes came into force on 31 January 2026 and included, among other things, the extension of zone operating hours to 22:00 and an updated price list. The Paid Parking Zone Office is located at ul. Władysława Reymonta 20 in Krakow.
Important: Before parking, make sure which sub-zone (A, B or C) you are in – the rates differ significantly. You can check the current map at zdmk.krakow.pl or directly in the AnyPark app.

From 30 April 2026, pursuant to Resolution No. XLVII/1005/26 of the Kraków City Council of 19 March 2026, holders of an active Krakow Card status are exempt from the obligation to pay parking fees on Sundays for all vehicles whose registration numbers are added to the Krakow Card status.

How does OPP enforcement work in Krakow?
ZDMK inspectors verify parking
Krakow City Roads Authority inspectors check whether drivers have paid the required parking fee. The system includes verification of licence plate numbers in the mobile payment system and pay-and-display machines. The additional fee notice is placed on the front windscreen under the wiper.

Choose the correct sub-zone (A, B or C) before starting parking. With mobile payment there is no obligation to place a note behind the windscreen, though it may help inspectors verify payment quickly.
In Poland big cities often have many zones. We communicate with the GPS module mounted in a mobile device. Before starting a parking session, perform a manual location calibration: On the app's main screen, locate the GPS symbol (top right corner) and tap the symbol to calibrate your location. After pressing the “Park” button another map will appear, allowing you to zoom in or out (use a two-finger pinch gesture). Verify that the pin indicates the exact location where you parked your vehicle (street etc).

FAQ – Krakow parking zone 2026
In sub-zone A – yes, paid parking also applies on Sundays (except non-trading Sundays and selected public holidays). In sub-zones B and C parking on Sundays is free – the OPP applies only Monday through Saturday.
The additional fee is PLN 400. If paid within 7 days of the notice being issued, the amount drops to PLN 200. Include the notice number and vehicle registration number in the payment reference.
It depends on the sub-zone and rate. Standard rate: sub-zone A: 9+10+11 = PLN 30.00 · sub-zone B: 8+9+10 = PLN 27.00 · sub-zone C: 7+8+9 = PLN 24.00. With Krakow Card: sub-zone A: 6+7+8 = PLN 21.00 · sub-zone B: 5+6+7 = PLN 18.00 · sub-zone C: 4+4+4 = PLN 12.00. Thanks to the "No Overpaying" feature in AnyParkPlus you pay only for the time actually spent in the parking zone.
Yes – AnyPark honours Krakow Card discounts. It is one of the officially ZDMK-authorised apps supporting this discount scheme. Discounts are not available in banking apps.
With mobile payment there is no obligation to place a note behind the windscreen. In some situations, however, an "I'm parking with AnyPark" note may help an inspector verify payment quickly.
Parking fees in a paid parking zone are not subject to VAT where the service is provided by the municipality and the parking area is classified as a public road. This applies to all payment methods – pay-and-display machine tickets and mobile payments via AnyPark.
Electric vehicles (BEV) are exempt from parking fees in paid parking zones under the Act of 11 January 2018 on electromobility and alternative fuels. This is a nationwide regulation applying throughout Poland, including Krakow. The rules apply until the end of 2027.
